She is evaluated with 8.03 for conformation and 8.63 for riding abilities, total 8.33 and she was no3 of the 6 years old mares at Landsmót 1994. Her mother was also no3 at Landsmót when she was in the same age. The parents of Vaka are both with 1st prize, the father is Kjarval frá Sauðárkróki and the mother is Fluga frá Arnarhóli. Vaka is born 1988 and came to our farm late summer 1998. She is a very good breedingmare with seven 1st prize offsprings out of eight evaluated.  Vaka was no 2 of the honor prize mares at Landsmót 2006. Her daughter Þerna is also honored for offsprings
Another daughter Gola has three 1st prize offsprings out of four evaluated. Vaka is now 24 years old and unfortunately she lost her foal last winter, she was in foal with Kvistur frá Skagaströnd. She got really sick, but recovered well. Two years ago she was a stepmother to another foal that lost his mother. Vaka has a really nice character as you can see on the photos below.

Elín competed in Selfoss in fourgait V3 and endid up in 2 place. Actually they were two girls in 1-2 place with the same points, but the judges decided this. The horse is Óliver frá Holtsmúla 1, 8 years old. Siggi was in 100 m pace  thursday evening with Spori frá Holtsmúla 1 and ran at 7.98 sec.  Dabbi competed in Mosfellsbæ and was no2 in pacetest and also in 100m pace with his mare Irpa frá Borgarnesi. Time 8.06 sec. He was also no 10 in tölt with Snjöll frá Egilsstaðakloti, 6 yeaars old mare. Katrín was taking part in tölt but this time she didn´t go to the finals.

One stallion Vakar frá Holtsmúla 1 raised his older points to 8.22 total. Conformation 7.89 and riding 8.44. He is a son of Orri frá Þúfu and Vaka frá Arnarhóli. The other is a 5 years old mare Hremming frá Skeiðvöllum and she got 8.05 for confomation and 8.41 for riding, Total 8.27. She is a daughter of Flygill frá Horni and Hremmsa frá Holtsmúla1.
Maybe it is confusing with different farm names like Holtsmúla1/Skeiðvöllum, but it is an explanation. We lived at Holtsmúla 1 for 25 years but we moved to Skeiðvöllum, so from 2006 our breeding is from Skeiðvöllum.
]]><![CDATA[WR competition in Keflavík last weekend]]>Tue, 24 Apr 2012 10:30:05 -0800http://www.skeidvellir.is/4/post/2012/04/competition-in-keflavk-last-weekend.htmlSiggi, Katrín, Dabbi and Ási drove to Keflavík to take part in a sport competition there. Katrín was the first of them on the track. She started in tölt T1 and was the leader in B-final after the preliminary round. In the final she dropped down one seat. Very good performance by her and Dagfari frá Miðkoti who is only 6 years old. Dabbi started in pacetest in the evening and won  with his mare Irpa frá Borgarnesi, they were also no.4 in 100m pace.  Ási, trainer did also very well, he won the tölt young riders and was no 2 in fourgait, and winner of the tölt+fougait together with his horse Reyr frá Melabergi. Last but not least Siggi himself started in 100m pace and won with his horse Spori frá Holtsmúla 1. All the riders from Skeiðvellir were very satisfied with the good results and the
nice weather. The facilities were very good both for riders and horses. Katrín took the pictures so there are no pictures of her and Dagfari. The picture of them is from last year.

We got this pictures sent from the north and as far as we can see he looks very good. We remind you that Glitnir will serve mares at Syðra-Fjalli in Aðaldal after landsmót. His total score is 8.35 and his blup 126.
Price: 80.000 including everything (vat, grass and one pregnancy check)
Bookingfee is 20.000 and has to be paid before the 15th of may.

The participant was good a lot of people came to look at the sale horses. Because of snow we had to move the competition into the ridinghall. Four salehorses standing here at Skeiðvellir were competiting with good results. 
Óliver frá Holtsmúla and Elín Hrönn were no.2 in fourgait with 6.50
Snjöll frá Egilsstaðakoti and Ásmundur Ernir were no.1 in tölt with 7.0
Ásgrímur frá Meðalfellei and Davið were no.2 in tölt with 6.72
Sunna frá Holtsmúla and Ásmundur Ernir were no. 3 in fivegait with 5.55

Flekka is a 5 years old bay pinto, F. Álfasteinn frá Selfossi M. Flugsvinn frá Holtsmúla
Sóley is 4 years old, red. Her father is Klettur frá Hvammi and her mother is Spyrna frá Holtsmúila.
They are both very interesting and specially good tempered

It was hold by The University of Agriculture together with the Horsebreedingassociation in the south and the students were 12. It was very interesting and a lot of different horses judged. Sometimes it was very surprising and the result is not always what you think. When you look at the horse in parts and every piece judged separately it can be quite another thing than the overall impression that the eye maybe see first. Teacher was Þorvaldur Kristjánsson

She is doing very well, the tror getting stronger, tölt and pace already good. Hremming is not so much trained mare 5 years old this year. Her parents are Flygill frá Horni (8.37) and Hremmsa frá Holtsmúla (8.17). It´s really a nice feeling to get good news from the new owners of sold horses.
