Yesterday we were moving the mixed group of 63 horses, from yearlings and up to another fence. It was very nice winter weather and the mountain Hekla was very beautiful in the sunset. I took some pictures

We got this nice picture from the new owner of Hremming frá Skeiðvöllum, who was exported in the end of november, trained for only three months. Looks really good. Hremming is born 2007 and the father is Flygill frá Horni 8.37 and the mother is Hremmsa frá Holtsmúla 8.17. Always nice to hear from satisied new owners. Good luck.

I took some pictures of the young stallions today

A good day today with a lot of horses when over one hundred horses got their wormcure for the winter. Some horses were moved and others brought home. Always a good feeling when this is done

Last week we had a riding course here at Skeiðvellir, the teacher was Peter De Cosemo. Peter is from England and is a classic ridingteacher and rider. Even if he is not used to tölt he says the basics are the same in all kind of horses. Understanding - confidence - respect - physical ability. He says "If it works it can´t be wrong, but if it doesn´t work it´s not right". Something to think about. This was a fun and instructive course. One night he had an open clinic and around 100 persons came to listen and learn.

Today they were checking the rest of the mares by Orri frá Þúfu and it was great to bring 3  pregnant mares home. The foals will be born in July and the beginning of August next year. Orri has done very well this year

Today I went to say hello to the mares and foals. The weather was cold but a nice sunshine. Took some pictures of some of the foals. Then I went to Vigri, who is just nearby yhe stable and took some pictures of him in the yellow autumn grass.

Glitnir frá Eikarbrekku has raised his BLUP from 125 to 126 and he is now in the 10th place of the stallions with 0-10 offsprings  in the world .
He is also no seven compared to the points 8.35 in the 5 years old stallions this year.
This has been a good year for Glitnir and we are very glad to have him.

Her last offspring was born 2007 and since then she has been going with the other breedingmares and had a nice time her last years. Yesterday she went to the fields that are always green, 25 years old. Hnyðja was a daughter of Kjarval frá Sauðárkróki. She was a fourgaited mare with 8,5 for everything except trot where she got a 9.
She was probably most famous of beeing the mother of the worldchampion Hvinur frá Holtsmúla.
